Raspberry Pi Command/Control over 4G

Wed Jul 15, 2020 4:12 pm

Hello,

I'm working on a project where I need to send commands to a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B over a large distance. To do this I'm hoping to use a 4G LTE network and Hat for the Raspberry Pi. Is there any way I can send commands to the terminal on the Raspberry Pi via the 4G LTE network? The Raspberry Pi will be in a headless configuration. Thanks.

Yes, but you're likely to need a bastion host of some sort, and get the Pi to connect out to that. Your carrier is very likely to be deploying NAT, which means you probably won't be able to make inbound connections to it.
