Eth chip error when doing heavy I/O on USB

Tue Jan 01, 2013 7:29 pm

I get the "eth0: Failed to read register index 0x00000114" logs when I do a
badblocks -s -v /dev/sda1

I am using the latest raspbian on a 512MB RAM Pi.
I have an MicroSD cardreader connected.

I have found some mentioning of this message, but I do NOT see any interruptions.
Everything works, and the only phenomenon are the log messages, and propably some eth and/or USB retries.

Can this be safely ignored or is it a deeper problem/seldom occuring bug?

I cannot measure the voltage, as the device is not here physically, but last time I checked it was 4.8V (Samsung Galaxy S3 MicroUSB charger 1A)

This behavior seems to be fixed by latest rpi-update kernel!!

I have not seen any error messages any more!!
(they were reproducible with any previous kernel)

Looks good now!
