installing core
What is the trick to getting the required ssh keys? When I do ctl+alt+f1-f6 it exits back to the beginning, not a terminal.

The SSH keys to connect to a Core installation are retrieved from your Launchpad account after completing the configuration. In other words, the "store sign in" is not just about registering the device to your account, it's also about giving you access to the device via the SSH keys associated with your account.
Author of / contributor to a few pi related things (picamera, Sense HAT emulator, gpio-zero, piwheels, etc.), and currently a software engineer at Canonical responsible for Ubuntu Server and Core on the Raspberry Pi.
