Extending wifi range for raspberry pi 4 using USB wifi dongle

Hi! Im new to raspberry, for my first project I want to use my raspberry as a wireless AP but it was a problem for me since I am planning to connect from a distant. I dont want to solder and mount directly an antenna to my pi board since I dont have the tools to extensively so it. I was searching on ways to extend the wifi coverage for my raspberry pi and found out about usb wifi alternatives. Any suggestions on the hardware that is completely compatible with pi?
