Connect a CMOS camera with 26 pin fpc

Sun Jun 28, 2020 6:46 am

Hi,

I saw that the Raspberry Pi 4 has two 15-pin 1mm pitch connectors. I have a CMOS camera with a 26-pin FPC cable and was wondering how to connect that to the Raspberry.

Thank you!

You can't!

Even when the pinout is identical, the electronics behind it are NOT compatible!

Guessing that there is some kind of standard behind such flex connectors is futile, and wishful thinking. This is also true for LCD panels, not just camera's.

Also, the firmware for the camera's now check if the camera isn't fake, and will not work if it is.

Also the firmware does a lot of stuff that will only work if the camera is exactly right.
