Will copper heatsinks make much of a difference?

Sat Jun 27, 2020 12:42 pm

I'm currently looking to buy a Raspi 4B since I worked with a zero version for a school project and I quite like it. I'm also getting a fan and heatsinks with it since I've read up on the heat problems that the 4B can have when under sustained loads.

Currently, where I live I can't get my hands on the aluminum heatsinks, but I can get the copper ones. I've found conflicting information on the internet on which ones to use, and the information that I did find is for PC's anyway.

Will the copper heatsinks act differently in any sort of way to the copper ones when specifically talking about smaller computers like the raspberry?

what is your maximum temp operating requirement for RPi4B?

is the copper heatsink like the one in the image?

if paired with a fan... it doesn't make much difference with an aluminum heatsink.

for reference am using this on my RPi4B-8G/4G/2G

at ambient of 27C, the SoC temp is at 36C to 40C
as the whole heatsink covers the top of the board, the board is "protected" from the dust blown by the fan.

Come to me with 'problems' and I'll help you find solutions"

Some people be like:
"Help me! Am drowning! But dont you dare touch me nor come near me!"
