Pulse Generator question

I am an amateur seismologist and would like to add a 1/minute pulse to the records

Looking at myriads of posts, I see people have built function generators etc with these
devices. I am looking for a very long duration pulse.

I am brand new to this platform and while I have studied the pinouts for the device,
I'm not sure if this is practical or not.

Is there a software library that might already have this function available and if so,
where would I find that?

And through software, in theory, can I set the time duration between pulses to be
1/minute?

I am going to take the output and put it into a buffer op amp prior to the signal being
mixed with the seismic gear.

Man, I feel like a newbie...

I can't tell how accurate your pulse needs to be, but if you look at this guide you should be able to program your 1/minute pulse fairly quickly:

What is the peak amplitude of the pulse you want to, generate. The Pi GPIO out/put is 3.3v. If you want a higher voltage pules

this ca be achieved by using a transistor or a opto Isolator to switch peak voltage you want.

I couldn't find anything in the same genre with the Pi
