GPS receiver wrong location gpsd [KALI]

Mon Jun 08, 2020 10:58 pm

I'm on a raspberry 3 b+ running latest version of kali linux.
I got this gps receiver;

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source= ... zqWYESEShc

I made sudo apt-get install gpsd and checked that the gps is ttyUSB0, then:

gpsd /dev/ttyUSB0
cgps

But as the title says, location is incorrect. Is not like its the other end of the world, but it is pretty far from me, actually in the middle of the ocean.

I'm new to this so I'd appreciate help and suggestions.

Thanks in advance

Is the GPS outdoors with a clear view of the majority of the sky?

Kali Linux is not supported on here. Try posting your question on https://forums.kali.org/

GPS co-ordinates from gpsd are +ve east of Greenwich, -ve west of Greenwich, +ve north of the equator, -ve south of the equator.

Mostly. Is outside of my window, and I live in a rural area so there are no tall buildings nearby. Today it picks up the same location as yesterday, in the middle of the ocean.

Is there something that I need to configure or something like that?
