Trouble getting PostgreSQL installed on a Pi 4, 4GB

Sun May 24, 2020 3:44 am

Read this blog re installing PostgreSQL on a Raspberry Pi 4. It seemed straight-forward, so I started following along.

https://kb.objectrocket.com/postgresql/ ... ry-pi-part

When I ran the apt-get postgresql... I had several errors reported by the script, and no install.

Code: Select all

The following NEW packages will be installed:

As I'm still feelng my way around linux, I'm at something of a loss. I took a peek at the site the downloads were coming from (198.255.68.110,) and it appears that the paths in the install don't match the path at the site.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Lou

I suspect there was a temporary problem with that mirror site.

Try again later and it may work.

I'll keep trying... However, this is now the fourth consecutive day that the install has failed.

Ok, looks like there may be some issue with your networking then.

I just tried downloading one of those files from that server manually using wget and had no problem.

To check the connectivity could you try

Code: Select all

ping -c 4 198.255.68.110
There are other tests to run, but we can skip a lot of them as you appear to have a working internet connection because your Pi resolved mirror.os6.org to 198.255.68.110 correctly.
