Minecraft 1.15.2 not running smoothly

Sat May 23, 2020 1:25 am

I just installed Minecraft 1.15.2 on a Raspberry Pi 4B 4GB
When ever I connect to a server example wiimmfi.minehut.gg
The game crashes when I try to connect to it
The server has viaversion and via backwards plugins to allow 1.9+ to join
I tryed 1.12.2 but it just freezes the raspberry pi's mouse
Is there anyway to fix this

It doesn't matter what server I join it crashes in 1.12.2 on the raspberry pi they run fine
all servers tested have both 1.12.2 and 1.15.2 support

When trying to load a server Minecraft came up with this notice
Minecraft has run out of memory
This could be caused by a bug in the game or by the
Java Virtual Machine not being allocated enough
memory.

To prevent level corruption, the current game has quit.
We've tried to free up enough memory to let you go back to
the main menu and back to playing, but this may not have worked.
Please restart the game if you see this message again

It’s a software issue so try the correct section - viewforum.php?f=66

Also you posted at 2.30am UK time. The forum will be a little quieter at that time.

Are you trying to run Minecraft through VNC or directly on the Pi ?

Do not run anything else at the same time as Minecraft.

You might get more help if you posted in the 1.15.2 tutorial thread.

I am running only minecraft and the terminal
The reason I am upgrading to 1.15.2 from 1.12.2
I already have 1.12.2 running smooth almost never crashes
When in single player it runs okay but I am not here for single player because I can play it on my pc
but I can't play multiplayer on my pc because I don't have internet going to it
That is why I use raspberry pi 4
I used this tutorial to install this viewtopic.php?t=270973
The server I am trying to connect
I have set render distance to 3
should I try it on true raspbian buster
I am currently using raspbian X nighthawk edition which is raspbian but with xfce desktop instead
The server loaded then I try to move then the game crashes
Raspbian X nighthawk edition is raspbian buster

Probably won’t run at all due to graphics drivers.

Can I copy over files without having to do installation process again or do I have to wait another 24 minutes for a new alt to come in

What’s a ‘new alt’ ?

Update Raspbian.

Code: Select all

sudo apt update
sudo apt full-upgrade
Then do a full install of Minecraft according to the tutorial.

I successfully installed minecraft 1.15.2 it plays servers
but it freezes every few minutes for a few seconds otherwise its playable in multiplayer on servers
is there a way to increase performance server and player boh have render chunks set to 3
is there any more way to make it run smoother on raspberry pi 4 B 4GB
