Porting GPIO tools from Raspbian to other Debians

Tue May 12, 2020 11:10 pm

Hello Everyone. I was working around with my Raspberry Pi 4 and was having some issues accessing the GPIO from any other Debian than the Raspbian itself. It is possibly because the raspbian comes pre installed with some packages (rpi-gpio, or something) which cannot be installed via apt on other Debians. Is there any way to get the GPIO working in other Debians. I have done exhausting searches but didn't find anything useful. :D

Code: Select all

wget -cq --show-progress https://archive.raspberrypi.org/debian/pool/main/r/raspi-gpio/raspi-gpio_0.20191001.tar.xz
tar xf *tar*
cd raspi-gpio
dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc
sudo dpkg -i ../raspi-gpio_0.20191001_*.deb
It seems to build fine for me, although you may need to install the correct dependencies . The arm64 build I use has all the tools already included for building packages. Usually.

Return to “Debian”
