Should there be some led on when I power up?

Thu Apr 23, 2020 4:59 pm

My brand new just opened up pi zero looks DOA. I think there should be some led lights when I apply power. I have used multiple power supplies but I get nothing. This is my first zero and before I send it back I want to make sure there should be some led indicator.

The single LED on a Zero or ZeroW is a combined power and SD card activity indicator.

Have you put a micro-SD containing a bootable OS in the card slot?

If still in trouble read the "not booting" sticky before posting again.

Is the version of Raspbian for the zero different than for RP 3? Should you be able to use the same memory card with the most update version or is their a difference?

No, yes, and no. In that order.

The latest version of Raspbian will run on all models of Raspberry Pi.
My mind is like a browser. 27 tabs are open, 9 aren't responding,
lots of pop-ups...and where is that annoying music coming from?
