pi 4b built in wifi adapter vs external router

Wed Apr 15, 2020 8:51 am

I am trying to make the pi 4B 4 gb ram and my ubuntu to communicate with each other. I have smal doubt which networking method should i use for high transmissino rate between this two machines considering the best available router in market right now.

If you simply want to connect 2 devices, the best data rate will probably be obtained by connecting the 2 systems directly to each other, thus avoiding the complexity and possible degradation of service introduced by having a third device involved.

If the hardware platform on which you are running Ubuntu has a Gigabit Ethernet wired network interface, use that.

Alternatively, configure one of the devices as a WiFi access point and configure the other as a WiFi client.
