Raspberry Pi with Android, sensors and camera

Fri Apr 03, 2020 1:05 pm

Hi everyone!

Im part of a group who is trying to do their first project using Raspberry Pi. We would like to implement a navigation system, so we thought of choosing Android and Java as our development tools given that already existing apps like Navit are way too complex and C is also harder to code with. We would like to use also some sensors (for temperature and humidity) and a camera. Are these going to work on our Raspberry Pi running on Android?

We are really confused and don't know where to start from given that nobody has experience in this field, everyone in the group is a SW engineer basically. Hope we can get some help here :)

Everyone in the group is a SW engineer but none of them has the basic skills to find out from google in ten minutes that there is no supported Andorid for the Pi and hence Java is probably not the best idea. I think they are pulling your leg.

I should have included the version number maybe. I think it works on Pi 3 or other similar models. Can you confirm this? Would the sensors work in this case?

There is a section of this Forum Dedicated to Android and user Konsta is the main developer of community Android:
