Kodi v18 does not see SMB share on Raspberry Pi

Tue Mar 31, 2020 1:38 am

Hi.

I'm attempting to use Kodi V18 on a Fire TV. Whenever I try to add my SMB shared folders as a source, it does not see them.

VLC sees them and I'm able to access them on my Windows PC. Is there a particular reason why?

Also, is there a way I can better the transfer speed? Whenever I play videos on a share located in an external HDD, it stutters (using VLC). The Raspberry PI is connected to ethernet, and whenever I watch any videos in the share folder located in the MicroSD, I have no issues playing videos. The TV is using WiFi. Should I switch the TV to ethernet as well?
