How do I stop the window from showing up when a USB stick is plugged in?
It's not convenient if it shows up because it repeats mounting and unmounting.

Try changing the File Manager's Volume Management settings - same location as for disabling auto-mount altogether:
Edit --> Preferences --> Volume Management ...

just mount it via fstab or systemd.....
