Raspberry PI is slightly damaged, what should I do?

Tue Dec 25, 2012 11:47 pm

I got a Raspberry PI Model B for Christmas but one of the poles on the motherboard is slightly bent. I'm pretty sure that it came like that because I took it straight out of the packet and noticed when I was putting it back in the pink box.
What should I do?

Do you mean the pins of the 26 pin Connector (GPIO Connector)?

If so, simply straighten it gently and use it. As long as the pins are not touching one another, you will be OK.

yeah i know what this guy means... the same thing happened to me butmine still runs fine... nothing to worry about here dude; unless your going to actually use that port! if you are... it still should be fine.. but be careful that it does not actually snap off.

If it still works great otherwise order a new one and put your sdcard in the new unit (like nothing ever happened :D) as the Raspberry Pi will only cost you $35 maybe less depending on your model good luck :)

One of the GPIO pins? Mine came the same way.

With mine I suspect if I put a cable on it I can still make it fit, so I'm keeping it as is.

I'd use a small screwdriver and tweak the bent pins back into line. Its fairly easy to do (as it is to bend them in the first place).
