DSLR wirless live viewer

This is great! A micro computer for 35$?! Fantastic!!

Im shooting footage with a Canon 7D. It´s got a hdmi output and is able to send a live feed of it. I love the idea of sending this videosignal to the Rasberry pi which in turn decodes it and transmitts the video over WiFi to be picked up by a laptop or perhaps a tablet. Creating a wirless live viewer. What do you think - is this at all possible?

Doesn't seem very trolly to me.

He probably just doesn't know that the HDMI on the pi is output only. Other than for that it wasn't a bad idea.

Just to help the OP.

The Raspi does not accept HDMI in, there is no 'grabbing' facility. So I am afraid what you suggest won't work with the device.

but you can add an usb webcam connected to the viewfinder
it grabs in that way. sure not ideal but it would work flawless.
