Stream audio Sonos using dlna/upnp

Fri Feb 28, 2020 11:31 am

Hey guys,

I am quite new to this community and I have an idea of a setup I would like to be evaluated by you:

I would like to use a raspberry to stream audio content to a Sonos speaker. I have read a lot about snippets and jack connection kit, pulse audio and ALSA but I don't really get the point how to do this. In best case scenario I would like to set up the possibility to switch sources between a line in source (sound card) and the raspberry device audio.

Please be patient if this topic is not new or way to easy for some of you but for me it is kind of difficult to get a good start.

Thanks for everyone going to help me!

I think we dont quite get the grasp of what you want to do. Is it the different audiosources on the Pi you want to switch between ? And then create one single upnp stream to the Sonos device ? What will the Pi be "playing" ?

dlna/upnp is mainly about sharing media *files* so what I think you are asking is not easy by a long shot.
