Pi won't boot after full-upgrade.

Tue Feb 11, 2020 9:05 am

I have a Pi Zero W running Stretch that has been working fine but I was having trouble using the camera library in pygame and it was getting a little long in the tooth so I ran apt-get update and then apt full-upgrade. Well, now it won't boot. At least not to a usable state. I get two lines of text about brmcc then the raspberry screen about shift for recovery mode and then no signal. A very unfortunate result. Is there something obvious I should look for? The original install was from Noobs, I believe.

I'll probably just get the important files off (I'm assuming the partitions are still good) and reinstall from scratch but I need to go to bed so I'll check in the morning.

No. Stock settings other than enabling the camera, ssh and vnc.

There wasn't too much on there and I was able to grab /home so I'm just going to blow a new image on there. I'd keep it around for a bit longer for analysis but I don't have a spare SD card right now.

I *did* purge wolfram alpha because it was having troubles downloading and I don't need it (and seriously, half a gig with that thing?) and there were some errors about cleanup which didn't look too critical but who knows? There's a reason I'm a Slackware guy on important stuff :D
