Problem with two compute 3 lite modules on the same network.

Fri Feb 07, 2020 12:28 pm

Hi
We are been using a compute module 3+ in our host board for some time now , whilst developing etc with no problem.
We now have built several other boards , and are experiencing network issues when we put more than one on the same network..

The second unit was using a cloned SSD card of the development board , and so we have changed the Ip address etc.

We found that if we connected the first to the network all was ok. As we connected the second to the network , the first board stopped responding to a ping and the second one was ok!

We then changed the computer name of the second device and tried the same test.
Better this time in that we could now ping both devices intermittently
However, trying to talk using visual studio works intermittently and keeps disconnecting etc.

Have just found that the mac addresses are the same on both devices !!!

Have checked a pi 3 b model (whole board) and that has a different mac address as you would expect.

Can anyone tell me how I could change the mac address ? Thought this was managed by manufacturer?

Any ideas ?

Your help is much appreciated.

Regards

Mark
