Raspberry pi 4 (4giga) and Processing

Hello,
i'm new to raspberry pi and i'm super excited to start learning.
I'm a processing "user" and one of the first reason i got the raspberry pi is to create installations with processing sketches.
My first steps were a little undertone. I noticed a really really bad performance for processing even for simple sketch.
Is there a way to set better the settings to optimize the performance?

i installed processing to run some sketch on a tv screen.
I started with some easy test, something like an ellipse floating around on the screen, and the results was really really slow.
And that was the most simple sketch i can imagine.
