I would like to point out that I am new to this forum and new to rasberry pi.
I would like to start a project to solve a problem that I have.
I have a machine that processes flat coil stock.
I need a controller that I can enter a length into and through an encoder, monitor that length of coil moving forward until the entered length is achieved. At that point, I need to actuate a shear to cut the stock.
One of the main hurdles is that there may be a timing issue from when the encoder reaches the required measurement and the shear is actuated. Therefore I need some type of feedback to ensure the piece being cut is accurate to within 1/16".
Any direction you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
