Pi QEMUlator Network Bridge (TAP?)

Mon Dec 17, 2012 6:05 pm

Hi,

I just downloaded the Pi QEMU Windows Package from Source Forge.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/rpiqemuwindows/

I would like to Bridge my Pi QEMUlator to my local Network so it get's it's own IP Adresse in my network like a real device.

What I found up to now is I have to Install a TAP virtual Network Interface from openvpn which I did.

Unfortunately I can't get the QEMU Pi running using this TAP.
If I ad -net tap or net if=TAP or anything I found in the www to run.bat QEMU imediately ends when called without an error message.

Does anybody have a run.bat making QEMU Bridge to Computers Ethernetcard -> Local Network working for him and can post it. (Or whatever else is needed)

I think things I found are "should work" and nothing "actual doing" for somebody.

QEMU, TAP, and Windows host do not work, i found that to be the case.

My theory is that functionality of QEMU is broken...

Yes, the people posting blogs etc are photoshopping their screenshots, it doesn't work full stop :|

Try booting a live x86 linux system and ditch 'windows' :!:
Windows = broken. :|
Real life is, to most, a long second-best, a perpetual compromise between the ideal and the possible.
