Bell ring recognition

Hi all,
I would create a sound recognition using raspberry pi.
In detail rpi shall learn a bell ring and then it should recognize it.
Could you help me?

Connect a microphone to the Pi and then write a program to look for the acoustic signature of the bell. I suggest you name the program "pavlov".
