Squeezebox Touch Clone ?.........

I have just gotten a Pi and got it booted up and am now at the login screen.

For my first project with this little Pi, I would like to mimic what the Squeezebox touch does. I believe that there is some software out there that does something like this.

Can someone point me to some instructions to show me how to get this software running on a Pi. I know nothing of Linux, but have played with computers for 40 years.

SqueezePlug can also (if you want) install LMS (previously known as SqueezeCenter or SlimServer) bringing the possibility of turning off a PC.
