Uninstalling Serviio from RPi 2B

Fri Oct 11, 2019 2:51 am

I installed Serviio on my RPi 2B about a year ago, and everything is fine. However, I'd like to switch to Emby, because I think I'll be able to enable the remote media server so a couple of friends are able to access some videos that I have.

Serviio was not included in a package, so I can't do apt-get -remove. I followed a guide I found in this https://linuxconfig.org/how-to-install- ... spberry-pi:

I'd like to know how I can undo the installation so that I can install Emby.

Simplest, easiest, quickest will be to get a new SDCard with plain Raspbian Buster 2019-06-29 on it then add your new software. Keep the old card until you're new installation is complete, then re-use it as a full system backup.

The thing you'll gain from that is a years worth of changes and fixes to your Raspbian system (including the switch from Stretch to Buster).
