Black border on screen on an LG 43UD79-B

I've just connected my p4 to my LG 43UD79-B monitor

It has 4 hdmi: 2 are 30hz (1 & 2) and 2 are 60hz (3 & 4).

As I just intended to use it in 30hz mode I plugged it into hdmi 2.

The problem is that I have about a 1" black border going all around the screen. Which I don't get on my windows pcs or my other linux pc.

I've tried changing the all the monitor settings and tried all 4 ports and 4 different cables (inc the official cable).

I can get 60hz when I edit the config.txt file, but I still get this 1" boarder.

the pi is up to date. It was running the 64bit kernel, but I swapped back to the 32bit one to see if that changed anything. It didn't.

Well I've found the issue. In wanting to try the official 64bit raspian it somehow messes up the video. Even if you're still in 32bit mode.

I had the exact same issue with a Dell monitor with the latest rpi-update kernel. I disabled overscan in the config.txt, and that resolved the issue for me.
