SDL 1.2 sound problem

Fri Sep 13, 2019 1:01 pm

For SDL 1.2 I'm using vanfanel's library from here:

https://github.com/vanfanel/SDL-1.2.15-raspberrypi

and it works great for the video, however, it does not have any sound. All the test sdl programs that come with the package run with the exception of the loopwave program. I get the error "Couldn't initialize SDL" any suggestions?

Oh nice, triple buffering and threaded vsync. Now if only someone would port SDL 1.2.15 to use KMS/DRM for the Pi 4.

Looking at https://github.com/vanfanel/SDL-1.2.15- ... 12-rpi2.sh he sets these flags:

Code: Select all

--disable-oss --disable-alsatest --disable-pulseaudio --disable-pulseaudio-shared
which won't do what you want. Did you turn sound library flags back on when you ran ./configure? And libalsa/pulseaudio is installed and properly found according to ./configure's output?

Note if you build for all three sound outputs, you can toggle between them by setting the SDL_AUDIODRIVER environment variable.
