USB-C monitor with Raspberry PI 4

Mon Sep 09, 2019 4:22 pm

Hi.

Bought a PI 4 today, but needed to order the offical power supply from raspberry because my regular usb-c connector didn't work (read about the usb-c issue after I bought it). So while waiting on the power adaptor I was wondering if it is possible to use AOC I1601FWUX monitor with the PI?
The problem is that the power and video from the monitor is a usb-c, and the usb-c on the PI is just for power.
Is there a good solution for this?

Thanks in advance.

The RPi 4B USB-C connector is Power Input, so not able to power the Monitor or carry a Video Signal:

RPi 4B 4GB (SSD Boot) RaspiOS64 ARM64
Asus ChromeBox 3 Celeron is my other computer...

This monitor uses one of the USB-C alternate modes which changes it to carry DisplayPort so not compatible with the Pi which outputs HDMI. You'd need some kind of HDMI to DisplayPort adapter that understood USB-C negotiation. It won't be cheap if it even exists at all.
