Pi 3B+ remote video transmission & camera question

Sat Aug 24, 2019 7:53 pm

I need remote video camera access thru a LAN cable. Can I send video from one Pi 3 camera to a second (remote) Pi 3 and monitor?
Is it possible to use a third party video camera with the Pi 3B+ using other than the ribbon interface connection?
Thank you,
Richard

You could have a look at the Motion software as this gives you a web browser view of the pictures.

As for other cameras - USB will be the best way to go. Have a search on the forum of Google for success stories.

I'm running Motion Eye OS on a couple of 3A+'s here at home. I can view the video in a web browser on any PC etc connected to my LAN. No having to stream to a Web site / Internet first. I'm using cameras connected to CSI though, nothing plugged into USB. Motion Eye will support it, I'm just not doing it that way. I can control the camera(s) via the web interface.
