I mean I can’t find any information on which OS would be appropriate?
Looking at https://apps.ankiweb.net/
- the prospects do not look encouraging...
Under Download, select the Linux tab. 2 different downloads offered...
Both options require a 64 bit Intel/AMD Linux - these packaged versions do not support 32 bit distributions or other architectures like ARM.
(Your RPi board is built around ARM processor technology.)

Some Linux distributions include Anki in their repositories. We've seen many users experience problems with these distributed versions, due to them being out of date or missing appropriate libraries. sudo apt update
sudo apt install anki
