Stacking 2 TV Hats

Thu Aug 01, 2019 9:40 pm

Hi everyone,

Totally new all this to me but ditched the SKY contract and going for Pi instead :D

I would like to know if anyone stacked 2 or more TV hats on one Raspbery pi.

I have one Raspberry pi 3 B+ with one TV hat and 2 xbox one usb tv tunners. All working fine after few days of trying to make the xbox tuners work :D but... I was just wondering if it's possible to stack additional tv hats instead of the usb ones and have the usb ports free although the xbox tunners are very cheap in comparison to Pi tv hats.

Thanks

Proper HATs are not stackable. They have an ID EEPROM which has a fixed i2c address - apart from the PoE HAT which uses a different i2c address so that it can be stacked with another HAT.

On a fast enough Pi you could use a USB tuner or two.

I'm actually happy with the setup at the moment. Just trying to get rid of too many cables. I guess I have to find a proper enclosure to hide everything nicely.
