Buster's installed packages in a list

Sun Jun 30, 2019 9:26 pm

In case it's helpful for anyone here, I have lists of all of the packages (and versions) installed on the 2019-06-20 releases of the buster, buster-lite and buster-full images here.

these are essentially the outputs of:

Code: Select all

apt list --installed
This was run direct on mounted images themselves so is essentially the equivalent of running it on a fresh install before any updates.

I did this so I can work out the differences between each case, and also the differences between these and my current stretch install so I can preempt any issues before I upgrade... in theory...

... exactly the same as if you run it on your Buster system.

Are there not three versions: Full, Desktop and Lite?

You need to install each from https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/raspbian/

Quite so. But likely to be of academic/reference value only, since that June release of Raspbian Buster was superceded by a subsequent release in July 2019.

Yeah, it took me a minute to find the word, here, at first. However, the issue is that the names of the groups in the listing are not matching the names of the actual Raspbian packages.

Also, even if outdated to some degree, the basic programs used in each group can be significant in understanding the mindset of the packagers.
