Re: Buster bug report thread - Capture Sound

Mon Oct 07, 2019 7:58 pm

Microphone is not working in Browser pre-installed Chromium and Firefox. But the Sound capture works with audacity

I tried to record sound with a USB Webcam.

Update:

I tried the 26 sept 2019 buster release - same behavior

I tried removing the edimax wifi dongle and performing a ifdown / ifup on wlan0 that is using the internal wifi of PI 3B+ at it works.
I ll try with another dongle, in order to determine if it is a Edimax driver related issue.

No. It was while, or after, doing a 'cat /sys/devices/platform/soc/20980000.usb/gadget/lun0/file" while a background process was possibly modprobing, installing or removing, g_mass_storage.

Also, after an apt-get update/upgrade I then got the following from my background program -

Code: Select all

sudo modprobe -r g_mass_storage
modprobe: ERROR: ../libkmod/libkmod.c:586 kmod_search_moddep() could not open moddep file '/lib/modules/4.19.66+/modules.dep.bin'
Presumably because it hadn't yet rebooted, and a reboot seems to have fixed things.

I really do wish apt-get would report when a reboot was necessary because I'd have hated to have had to debug that issue in a couple of days time when I wouldn't have so quickly related the issue to an upgrade and not having rebooted.

For this and other reasons, I have got into the habit of always following an apt update/upgrade with a reboot. I recommend this habit!
