I suspect the Arch category on this forum as with many others is for users to share, question and discuss things they are doing with Raspberry Pi. Anything directly to do with Raspberry Pi Foundation or Trading would better be addressed directly to those companies in private correspondence and not posted here.

I've recently moved a couple of my Intel-compatible computers over to an Arch-derived distribution. After many years of Debian and its approach of only packaging stable and sometimes rather old versions of software, it's quite exciting to use a rolling distribution constantly updated to new versions as they become available. While exciting isn't always good when it comes to operating systems, so far I've been impressed with the reliability.

Since Raspbian is intentionally designed to be reverse compatible in educational settings where SD cards are frequently swapped between computers by students, there is a growing need for a functional fully 64-bit Linux distribution for hobbyists and personal computing enthusiasts. As demonstrated by this Raspberry Pi Gentoo thread, it only requires one knowledgeable and dedicated developer to create a well functioning 64-bit image.

While I like the idea behind Gentoo, I find the advantages of custom compiled source to be outweighed by the convenience of a binary distribution. Although Arch seems like a reasonable compromise, a dedicated developer is needed make it work well and to interact with people here on this forum.

Yep, Gentoo64 shows what one very skilled person can do to champion a particular OS.
While I play with Gentoo64, I need to get the 4B4 and USB storage for it to be my main OS on Pi's.
As you say, compiling from scratch each app takes time and SD card wear.
How fast can the Pi4 do it, rolling updates might be less painful?

The Debian stuff is quicker to install, it is safe and yet can be very outdated.
For RPF Mission a simple reliable OS is better.
What school IT person wants to have daily rolling updates
It will be very interesting once Pi4 netbooting is working.

That Sway/Wayland stuff is interesting.
Is Arch the only one with it working?

I'm not in a position to test it or produce a new install for this at the moment.
But my quick look suggests it's an updated rpi2 version so maybe it would work. Maybe give it a go and report back? Just set the 'showall' cmdline option first to make it visible on a rpi4.
If it works I will make it installable for Pi4.

Just finished installing and testing it on the faint hope that it would be a 64 bit desktop I could use.

However, It's a gui-less arm7h environment. Tried pacman installin a random GUI and they all fail to install Mesa so it's uses seem very limited at the moment.

if use Pi4 then stay raspbian, they patches a lot for Pi4.
and Alarm not, e.g. chromium ffmpeg vlc and mesa..etc.

Whatever version is being used in Raspbian Buster, better stick to that or later.
Backporting sounds like too much work.

but, manjaro-arm had aarch64 image build for pi4 even gento64.

The Manjaro (Manjaro is based on Arch) ARM project have just released 64 bit versions for RPi4. There are 2 editions:

I prepared 2 sd-cards ,minimal version, and tested them on 2 pi4bs . None worked.

It could also be due to the supposed incompatibility of my TV and the 4b,
which I usually solve by first booting the pi3b and then switching the HDMI-cable

I got it working now on another TV.
Manjaro did not recognize the one TV correctly, (or vice versa) , same as with the
pi4B-raspbian booting cards.
However there I could solve it by booting from the pi3 and then switching the HDMI cable
to the pi4. This does not work with Manjaro. (no signal)
I didn't like all the password things - I mean, it's my little pi, noone else is using it, why do I
need passwords and complicated permissions ?
Then came the positive surprise : cfish [chess] compiled in ubuntu on the Odroid-N2 ran with 1850kn/s !
On the Odroid-N2 it had 2300kn/s, the default raspbian stockfish only gets 1050kn/s,
the optimized cfish-r3 compile from raspbian had 1300kn/s in raspbian but didn't run in Manjaro.
Then I did exactly the same thing again with another card but cfish didn't run.

The Manjaro (Manjaro is based on Arch) ARM project have just released 64 bit versions for RPi4. There are 2 editions:

I set up a little Pi4 home server/download box with this + docker yesterday and all went relatively smoothly.

I could download it and create the booting card.
It does not reconize my TV (or vice versa), same
as Manjaro. On another (older) TV it does boot
and displays some messages and stalls.. What then ?
Shall I type in some "login" and "password ?
Which ?
