Captive Portal on Guest Network?

Fri Jun 21, 2019 5:08 pm

I have a guest network on my router. Connected to that router is a Pi-Hole.

I would like it that whenever anyone connected to the guest network and opened their browser a specific web page is served up to them. Preferably all ran from the same Pi-Hole device.

Is this possible and if so can someone please point me in the right direction of a relevant tutorial. Thanks.

Depending on exactly how the guest network is implemented in the router what you want may not be possible.

You would do better to take the guest network off the router, put in a separate Pi with AP software, captive portal and PI-hole for DHCP and DNS.

This can then go on the routers DMZ and you have control 8-)

Most home routers I’ve used with guest networks do not have a forward to a portal and even some pro ones have very limited support (normally just their own inbuilt page).
