Power Supply Pi3B+ & Original Raspberry Pi 7" Touchscreen

Fri Jun 14, 2019 6:59 pm

Hi!
It is Friday night. Shops are closed and I have ready a Pi3B+ & Original Raspberry Pi 7" Touchscreen.
The jumper cables are connected.
Now i realize I do not have a proper 2.5A Power Supply.
Is there any workaround how I can power things up tonight or do I have to wait until tomorrow to buy a proper power supply?
Thanks
J

I'd just wait & get the proper official power supply when you can. 8-)

Yup, wait for it, as you got the original RPF touchscreen, better set it up with the RPF Power supply.....

"...all original combo..."

Besides wondering what you mean by "original RPF touchscreen", it will depend on what else you're going to connect to your Pi3B+. If it's just a keyboard and mouse, you should be able to get away with a *good* 2A PSU, such as the previous model of official RPF one. To make it even better, you can give the display it's own PSU. 1A is very much more than needed (IIRC, max draw on the RPF screen is right around 250mA).

As for my first point, I have an RPF so old that it has v1.0 control board and--therefore--no back light control beyond on or off.
