Using Raspberrypi as a bluetooth scanner with Android

I'm completely new to Raspberrypi and have never used one before.

I have made an Android application for my phone that scans for BLE beacons and triangulates an indoor position. Could I using a Raspberrypi with a Bluetooth dongle run my app on the Raspberrypi but use the Bluetooth dongle of the Raspberrypi to scan for BLE beacons instead of the Bluetooth technology in the phone?

Android is not officially supported Operating System.....

...though there are Community Supported versiond of Android Operating Systems, so you need to contact the developers about level of Bluetooth Support.

Hi, thanks for answer. I have made same experience on my telephone but that wasn't supported as fruitotheloom said. I choosed to use bluetooth technology in the phone for now, before I find the right way to solve that.

You could do that on Pi, either by using one of the Android images, or using standard Raspian BlueZ tools, such as

and a programming language of you choice.
