How many transistors can you use with the pi?

Tue Nov 27, 2012 2:05 am

I would like to control 22 different transistors for a project with LED's and really want to use the pi for it. So I was wondering if I could use the pi alone, or with other things to connect the different transistors and use the pi for my project.

P.S. Sorry if I am being very vague, I'm new at this.

The Pi has 8 IO ports you would want something like http://adafruit.com/products/732 this would bring you up to 23 I0 I got one of these off the Bay and works fantastic http://www.ebay.com/itm/Protect-your-Pi ... 3a7b57f43f he also has one with a ribbon cable if you don't want to stack it on top of the Pi
