After Fixing Samba Share issue I can no longer RDP into RPi [Fixed]

Sat Mar 16, 2019 11:43 pm

Hello so I was having issues with accessing my samba share from my Win 10 client to RPi using raspbian. I fixed it by editing my smb.conf file.

I was always able to RDP and SSH from my Windows 10 but after I fixed my samba share issue, the RDP seemed to stop working.

Is smb.conf related to XRDP into pi or was that just a coincidence?

Any advice on how to fix this?

here is my original post asking for help with the samba share issue which now is fixed.

Thanks!

If any more info is needed or if I am unclear please let me know.

Issue is I cannot use remote desktop service into my RPi from my Windows client after editing my smb.conf to get my samba shares working again.

As of now I can access my shares and SSH from Winsows 10 PC into Pi. Just would like to get the GUI as well and be able to RDP like before.

I also update my pi often using apt-get update, apt-get upgrade and rpi-update.

Thanks again!

Why use both VNC and tightvnc and then throw RDP on the top? Removing everything and then re-installing is not really a fix and it will be interesting to see what happens if you change Samba again

If you are bothered about another client on your machine then remove VNC and just use RDP rather than have lots of remote clients running...
Need Pi spray - these things are breeding in my house...
