xkblayout in config.txt has no effect in X

Wed Nov 21, 2012 10:23 pm

Hello

I tried editing config.txt from xkblayout="gb" to fi to better suit my .fi keyboard, but it doesnt seem to have any effect. I am using en_IE.UTF-8 as locale and the keyboard is fine before X, but there it goes back to gb layout. I did dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration before and when that didn't work, before and after edit.

Workaround is when I run 'setxkbmap fi' in LX Terminal in X, it then switches to fi keyboard everywhere in X.

Has anyone else encountered this?

I am using Raspbian 3.2.27+#250 PREEMPT, according to uname -a

Cheers,

You probably need a new powersupply. :D
