UART qustion

Thu Feb 28, 2019 1:34 pm

Hi all, I have just acquired a USB to serial cable and would like to connect to one of my Pis however I don't know what pins to connect it to - the cable has four wires black, red, white and green - I've googled but the pin diagrams are a bit confusing to me - anybody know of any easy to understand tutorials or pictures of how to connect this cable ? The pi is a model 3b

Since you didnt include any specific information about the cable you have bought we can only make educated guesses about what would be a suitable guide...
This is my guess: https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruits-ra ... t-the-lead

That was a good assumption - that is the cable I've got ( I've had it a while and couldn't remember where I got it from ) all works good - thanks very much

What are you connecting to, and which end is UART and which end is USB?
