ik wil een wachtwoord instellen voor root instellen en hij zegt nieuw wachtwoord en daarnaast kan ik niks typen

Not seeing the new password you type is normal:
Type a new password and press ↵ Enter. The password you type will not appear on the screen.
Retype the new password and press ↵ Enter. You will see a message that reads “password updated successfully.”

Onder linux worden paswoorden die je intypt niet weergegeven, niks, ook geen sterretjes of zo, echo's worden gewoon even uitgeschakeld.
als je dit gewend bent is er niks aan de hand.
