Case for RPi 3B+ Fan AND Sense Hat? Anyone found one?

Sun Feb 17, 2019 4:48 pm

Hi All

A few related issues in one post folks.

Is there any case or adapter where I am able to mount a fan (possibly to one of the GPIO pins for PID cooling control based on CPU temp) AND mount the Sense Hat please?

If not, I guess I am going to have to do a small soldering job to connect the fan to one of the GPIO pins.

Any suggestions / ideas ?

Ta

Andyroo

Though not a case solution, I've found these https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/pico-hat-hacker to extend the pins out to the side a great help.

I've yet to find a case that fits with these one though and like you, most searches for cases to fit specific HATs turn up little to nothing - generic 3D prints do not suit all applications and the general hobbyists nature and shear number of HATS/Phats and 'bits' preclude manufacturing I think.

Many thanks for the reply Andy. Given as you explain, the lack of cases for my type of set up, I'll consider an alternative fan mounting solution of some sort. I don't have an issue with CPU temps at the moment, but was looking to educate myself on coding some form of PID, and fan speed control based on the current CPU temp seemed like a good idea. ;)

Thanks again!
