OTA Live TV using USB tuner

Mon Feb 04, 2019 10:05 am

Hi guys,

I used to watch some live TV using an addon, unfortunately that addon doesn't work anymore because the network encrypted its streams.
Using an antenna and my tv's build in tuner I can get those channels over the air though.
But I would like to get them directly on my Raspberry Pi 3 running Osmc Kodi 17/18 using a USB DVB-T tuner,
I have a MSI Digivox Micro HD just laying around which has native Linux suppport.
Can that be made to work for Kodi Live TV?

Thanks!

First and foremost there appears to differing Chipset used in this product, so it would be helpful if you plugged it in and reported the output of lsusb from the command line:

Code: Select all

lsusb -v

AFAIAA if it is a RTL2832 Chipset it is supported out of the box in LibreElec so OSMC should be likewise using TVHeadend.
Rather than negativity think outside the box !
RPi 4B 4GB (SSD Boot)..
Asus ChromeBox 3 Celeron is my other computer...

So can that all within raspberry and kodi? Without use of my network?
And how does that all work because the only explanation I can find is with use of a network.
