Getting a TomTom display on a Pi?

Fri Jan 11, 2019 5:59 pm

New to messing around with Pi's on a display. Thought it would be cool to see if I had any old devices lying around with a screen. Found an old TomTom that I haven't used in years.

Took it apart and here are 2 pics of the screen apart. Image Image

How would I go apart understanding how or if this could be used on a Pi?

Thanks a lot :)

You need to have the screens data sheet; wuthout it your pretty mouch lost. Find it i.e. here https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source= ... 7236330333

This will tell you the display can be connected to DPI interface. How? RETUFM

The touch is resitive, use i.e. https://www.adafruit.com/product/1580 for connecting it to the Pi

You will need fo build a custom adspter board!

Thanks a lot for the descriptive reply. Just one question, what does RETUFM mean?
