7inch lcd for 12v to 5v, is it possible

Fri Jan 11, 2019 11:15 am

I have a old screen and controller laying around from a old project

HDMI+VGA+2AV Controller Board VS-TY2662-V1
7 inch 800* 480 Lcd Panel AT070TN92 with Touch Screen

From https://www.sainsmart.com/products/7-lc ... e-shopping

What i would like to know is if its possible to convert it the controller board from 12v to 5v and still work or if i need to look for a new screen

this will be for a portable retropie project

You can get a battery with both 5V and 12V outputs: https://www.amazon.com/XTPower-MP-10000 ... B00935L44E
Unless specified otherwise my response is based on the latest and fully updated Raspbian Stretch w/ Desktop OS.

i was planing to use a 11.2v 3amp rc battery i have with a 5v 2amp regulator switch and raspi zero (will mostly be playing gb/gbc/gba games), i was planing to use a second 5v 2amp regulator switch for the lcd i know it will be a short battery life but it will be a early prototype and most days i only play for 30mins to a hour anyway, and im tring to keep cost down at the moment
Thanks for the power bank sugestion i will keep it in mind
