Raspi Not firing up

Hi All

After many attempts, SD cards, Wifi dongles, hubs etc, using the 32 inch TV, my Raspi would come on only sometimes.

Then it would not come on at all

I increased the power supplies to 3A for Raspi and the hub, but still no use

I then wondered if using the TV as a monitor would affect the set up

I used one of my PC monitors and BINGO!!!! now perfect, even the hub does not need powering up

So...if you have this problem, suspect the TV and use a monitor.

I suspect that your TV requires the HDMI signal levels boosted. This is easily done in the ./boot/config.txt file. look for the command #config_hdmi_boost=0 and change it to read

config_hdmi_boost=4 (don't forget to delete the leading #)
