Cannot recover password (to forum)

I've apparently forgotten my password, or at least, which one it is of the several dozen today's internet environment forces you to remember.

I can log in via my phone since it's set to stay logged in forever, but if I'm ever logged out...

Anyway, when trying to log on, on another device I am always told my password is incorrect but when trying to reset my password it tells me something along the lines of
Error, username or email could not be found.

Any reason why it cannot find my details and resend them to my email address so I can make a new password?

Also odd is that my mobile phone often leaves me logged out of the forum. Despite my asking it to remember. If I would forget my password I would not be able to log in. Unless I go though the whole password change process with my email address.
